Paul Terracini
Conductor
Dr Paul Terracini started out his musical career holding a permanent position of Principal Trumpet from 1975 till 1979 within the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra. He was Lecturer in Trumpet, Concert Band, Brass Ensemble, and Big Band at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music from 1982 till 1988. He spent about twenty years in Europe, playing Solo Trumpet at the Danish Chamber Players from 1991 till 2007 and touring Asia, South America, the USA and all across Europe. For 16 years he was Chairman of the Storstroms Symphony Orchestra in Denmark. Back in Australia as a trumpet player he appeared as soloist with internationally known ensembles like the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra und the West Australian Symphony Orchestra.
As a conductor he recorded ten classical albums with the Prague Symphony Orchestra. Also he has been President of the Danish Bel Canto Society, conducted at the prestigious German opera festival Rossini in Wildbad, led orchestras in Denmark and Italy through concerts and operas. Furthermore, he taught at different schools and colleges of higher musical education in Europa and China.
Roy Li, Conductor
Mr. Roy Li studied clarinet at the Adelaide Elder Conservatorium with the principle of ASO; Dean Newcomb before 2016, then moved to Sydney to further his study at the Sydney Conservatorium with Susan Newsome and Frank Celata, performed in master class with professor Janet Hilton, Andrew Marriner and Sabine meyer.
Mr. Li has performed extensively in Australia and overseas as a soloist and an orchestral clarinettist, including with the Conservatorium Wind Symphony and Symphony Orchestra, Modern Music Ensemble, the Modest Orchestra, Lismore Conservatorium Orchestra; Sinfonia Australia. He has held principal clarinet positions in the Modern Music Ensemble and toured to World Music Festival in 2019.
In addition to his work as a performer, Mr. Li has over 10 years of extensive teaching experience. This includes clarinet and saxophone pedagogy, Chamber ensemble and concert band conducting, orchestral and chamber music mentoring. He has taught at venues including the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the Lismore Conservatorium of Music, Caringbah High School, Gordon West PS, Sydney Catholic School. In 2020, Mr. Li established Delicato Music Academy where his primary teaching take place at, he is also the band director in Sydney Catholic Schools System and a guest conductor at Sunshine Phil Youth Orchestra.
Chloe Zhang, Cello instructor
Ms Chloe Zhang is an accomplished music teacher with over 20 years of Cello experience and 8 years of teaching experience. As a soloist, she was trained by Mr. Jiang Lixing, the first chair of the cello section in the China Philharmonic Orchestra and a nationally recognized performer. She serves as the first chair of the cello section in the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, and she has also founded Prelude Strings, co-founded RMO Chamber Music, and teaches Cello at Sunshine Philharmonic Orchestra.
Chloe is known for her skill in using basic techniques to understand and appreciate music, and she designs specialized courses that include left and right hand techniques, sight reading, music theory, Suzuki and AMEB repertoire combined with the Schroeder and Popper etude systems, and music appreciation training. Her teaching approach is effective in building a strong foundation in music for her students of all ages and skill levels.
Sherry Wang, Piano instructor, Piano accompanist
Sherry Liqian Wang has been studying piano from 6 years old. From age 7, She has been achieving 1st prize in several provincial competitions, including the Kawaii piano competition. Sherry arrived in Australia around 2006 with her family, where she continued her piano performance studies. She was cultivated by famous Australian concert pianist Gerard Willems and Dr. Bernadette Harvey at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where Sherry graduated with her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Piano Performance, with the John and Dorothy Vimpani Pianoforte Scholarship. Sherry currently continues her further study with Erzsi Marosszeky, who is also a concert pianist and choral conductor based in Australia and Europe.
Sherry has extensive experience on stage. As a soloist, Sherry has performed in lots of public concerts at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She continued her journey through eisteddfods in Australia where recently in 2023, She came 4th in the Piano Concerto Competition at Sydney Eisteddfod.
Sherry is a certified piano teacher, piano accompanist and theory teacher in the Music Teachers’ Association of NSW. Sherry emphasizes the solid foundation of Piano techniques and knowledge of detailed performances. Sherry is experienced with different exam systems including AMEB, ABRSM and scholarship exams. Sherry has also developed her own system of Theory studies for all exams syllables. In addition to running a busy teaching studio, Sherry is the piano instructor and the piano accompanist for the Sunshine Philharmonic Orchestra of Sydney.
